2019 was a year of huge growth and change for Queen of Cups Lingerie. We wanted to let you know what a few of our plans are for 2020!
February Pop Ups – Saint John and Fredericton
In January, we hosted our first pop up fitting event at Heartbreak Boutique in Saint John. It was so successful, and we had so much fun, we booked another one for February 15!
We’re also going back to MaxHealth Fredericton in February, on the 12th and 26th.
What are pop up sessions? It’s your opportunity to be fitted for a custom made bra without having to travel to our St. Stephen studio. Our lead bra maker, Abby Pond, will discuss your bra frustrations and needs with you, and get all the information she needs to build a bra to fit you, not for you to fit into! The fitting takes approximately 30 minutes, so you do need to book in advance.
You can book your appointment time online – just choose the date and location of the pop up from the dropdown menu, and then select the date on the calendar. The available time slots will appear and you can book your spot!
Sewing Classes with the Queen of Cups
Our beginning bra making class in Fredericton the first weekend of February is sold out, but there are lots of opportunities to learn to sew your own lingerie on our schedule!
Bra Making Retreat in Sackville, NB
Our two-day classes can be a whirlwind. You’re learning new skills at a fast pace. If you’d like to slow down and make lingerie at your own pace, this retreat is for you. Winter is a time for coziness, creativity, and community.
The retreat is open to new and experienced bra sewists. For those that have previously taken a class, this is an opportunity to take four days and focus on perfecting your bra making skills. Learn how to manipulate your existing patterns into different styles, finishing techniques and tips, and also how to make matching underwear!
The retreat will take place at the beautiful Cranewood on Main in Sackville, NB, and includes lunch, snacks, and hot beverages from this beautiful bakery. Sackville is a beautiful town, located only 40 km from Moncton International Airport.
Space in the retreat is limited and filling quickly. Sign up today!
Bra Making 101
We’re bringing our popular Bra Making 101 class back to Halifax in April! Join us at Patch Halifax for this two day class where you’ll learn to make your own bra, with a pattern fitted to your body. Take the guessing and stress out of learning a new skill. You can sign up for this class at the Patch website soon.
We’ll also be teaching this class in our St. Stephen studio May 16 and 17th. You can sign up for this class at our website.
New – Panty Making!
You asked, we responded! We will be offering one day panty making classes on March 21 and April 13 in St. Stephen. This class is designed for the novice sewist, to help you build your skills and confidence in sewing. Learn more and sign up at our website.
But what about that announcement you mentioned at the start of this long, long post?
We didn’t forget, promise!
Turns out we aren’t only frustrated with bras that don’t fit and aren’t built for our bodies – underwear is just as bad. Our clients tell us over and over again how frustrating it is to try and navigate the world of underwear. Sizes that don’t make sense and aren’t consistent, uncomfortable materials, and let’s not even start on the limited availability.
What if you could feel good wearing underwear that fits you, knowing it was produced in an ethical and sustainable way?
Queen of Cups Lingerie is launching made to order underwear in 2020. Through our website, you’ll be able to enter your measurements, choose your style and fabric preferences, and we’ll make you the underwear you actually want to wear.
To participate in our product development, sign up to our email list! We will send you a short survey to ask your opinion on fit, cut, materials, colours, and price. You’ll have an opportunity to pre-order our product before the general public gains access!
